I thought I would be able to source a material locally but won't be able to do so. Do anyone have a recommendation for chipboard etc. that one would use in an architectural model?

^^this is the best of what I've found so far.

(My application is terrain models for a few plats.) Thanks in advance. Also, I do not want to use corrugated cardboard.

Thanks, but I was looking for something a little thicker. Side note: my finished model size is approx. 20" x 10".

is the 14 ply Crescent Board thick enough? I have used it for that purpose before, and it's available at all art and sign supplies, and you can use 3M films to laminate two sheets together to double the thickness. Most of the models are done with 3-4mm PVC board and CNC.

Joe, it likely would. I'll have to look online; I'm guessing the closest art supply store is about an hour away from my location. (We moved everything to the boonies.)

Chris

Would foam core work or is that too much like corrugated?

Foam core aesthetically would be okay, but my issue is that I've got 30 layers. I'm doing my best to show an appropriate height of the model with respect to the [overall] scale, not too flat, not to tall...
