Been looking for hardwoods near Chicago, IL. I've found Owl in Villa Park/Lombard, but there has to be more places around right? Anyone have any suggestions or experience or advice on various places?

Might wanna try Kettle Moraine Hardwoods, south location. Its in Racine, about 25 miles north of Illinois border. I've not been to that one, but the north location has a good selection. Google em... their web site isn't the best but it'll give you idea and prices.

Owl Hardwood is the best that I have found in the greater Chicago area. I live in NW Indiana and when I need a lot of wood such as 100-200 board feet of red oak or similar, I go up into Michigan to a small sawmill. Kind of a long drive but well worth it given the price of the wood at that place.
