Hi all, love the site and all the info I've been gathering from you guys.
True to the title this is my first post though I have been lurking in the shadows for a while.
I would go on to post a picture of my first plane rehab (a lakeside no.3) but I an receiving an error telling me the upload failed. so I'll skip to my first problem. Although I am able to get some pretty good shavings the mouth is clogging about every three strokes. Also there is just the tiniest bit of light shining between the iron and the chip breaker but I'm not entirely sure how to go about mating those two parts properly. Any help is greatly apreciated.

If you can see a gap between the chip breaker and the blade,
you've got the same problem I'm working through with a much older plane.

That gap is where the chips catch on my plane, and would be suspect on yours.

Search "plane fettling" in the advanced search box, up at the top right of this page.
Our very own Jim Koepke wrote an excellent treatise on this subject.

I'd start by setting the frog flush with the back of the mouth.

Marcus, Welcome to the Creek.

Jim, thanks for the kind words.

Here is a link to my post on fettling a plane, Junker to Jointer:

The chip breaker tune up is on the second page:

Bob Smalser also posted on fettling old planes. It is in the Neanderthal wisdom/FAQs which is in the Neanderthal Haven Announcements:

A lot of good stuff in there from a lot of good folks.

The error you're receiving maybe cause your file/picture is to big, try it again with a smaller res.
