I snagged some Cherry (and some other type of wood I'm not sure what, but it's promising) from my husband's work (they cut down some trees). :D
Unfortunately, I won't be able to do anything with it for a while (all my woodworking tools - including my lathe - are in another state). :(
Now the question is what do I use to seal and perserve it?
Some people have recommended painting the ends. I have some wood that I purchased (from stores and other SMC members) that have a sealer on it. I want to be sure that this wood is all well perserved. Once I get my tools back and my shop set up again, I plan to go through a maximum of wood in a minimum amount of time - if you know what I mean! ;)
