I made this bowl from a roughed out Totara bowl blank given to me by Terry Scott during a visit to NZ in December 2012. The profile was largely set in the rough turning, even down to the rim. Not a rim shape I've tried before but I really like the combination of bead and angled rim. The wood is quite soft so I ended up doing quite a bit of end grain sanding, especially on the inside. Size is 5.5" x 3.5" and finish is Danish Oil, which the wood soaks up like a sponge!

The clean smooth curve and the the rim details make this a winner.

Great looking little bowl. What do you use to sign the bottom?

Jim,
I use a Razortip ball tip - the smallest they make - in my pyro burner.

Thanks for the reply, I tried to Google ''Pyro Burner'' but no luck, where did you purchase it?

Kelvin,
Very nice little bowl. I like the rim treatment. You keep bringing back some great wood from down under.

Jim, it's a Burnmaster Hawk that I bought from Wood World in Dallas.

I love my Burnmaster. Wood World of Texas are great folks, too.
