I just paid to be a contributor. I love this site, and find the advice here invaluable. Do I need to notify anyone?

Thanks.

Ya go outside on your front lawn and scream it out at the top of your lungs!

Or add a cool, larger, crazier avatar.

Just kidding.

I think it takes a day or so and the mods change your status.

Steven,

It takes a day or two. Only the administrators can update your status. All 3 have full time jobs so usually within a day or two it will be handled in the evenings.

I think the standard is that you contribute 12 compliments, 12 bits of advice, and 12 photos. ;)

If you pay while logged in, with PayPal, your status is automatically updated. It worked for me yesterday. Thought I would add that for the readers that will come along. I updated my avatar immediately, will be using that one until about June 1st. We sell all my dad's stuff on Memorial day weekend.

Is this contribution considered tax deductible?I don't consider it to be a contribution. I consider it to be similar to any business information source and what ever I pay, consider it to be deductible. Yup... I saved $1.80 in taxes :D

Is that $1.80 American or $1.80 Canadian?

(that's what, about $35.83 in Oz dollars? (sorry Brian - couldn't resist & JK :D :D ;))

Or add a cool, larger, crazier avatar.

Easy for you to say.
You got the good one.

Avatar choices can be permanent, self-identifying or like clothes (easily changed).

I recommend something heroic, iconic and related to our pursuit:

You can try it, and report back to us.

The amount is so low no tax dept would contest it.

The tax saved would be just about enough for a pint of beer.

You have to undergo a secret initiation ceremony first, then you'll be shown the secret handshake and the secret password. . Basically a lot of secrecy.
