Been looking at turbine type HVLP sprayers.

Wagner makes a "Control Spray Max" owners manual says not to spray anything with a flash point below 70 degrees. Similar unit from Rockler and HF don't list a flash point but don't specifically list shellac either.
Looked up the flash point of shellac and it's listed as 60 degrees.

So.....should I throw caution to the wind and get one, spray the shellac and carry on, or should I consider another method?

To be clear what I want to spray is tongue and groove knotty pine that I'll be using as paneling.

I spray shellac all the time. Never had a problem unless I put it on way too thick.

I spray shellac all the time with a HVLP conversion gun. I do it indoors, but have good ventilation. I wonder if Wagner's caution relates to sparks within the turbine unit. I think the minimum concentration is 11% for alcohol to burn. With any type of ventilation you would never approach that concentration.

I assume it has to do with fumes recirculating through the turbine motor.

The wagner owners manual also states that warm air is mixed with the liquid being sprayed, so it must be pulled across the motor and blown out the hose.
