Urn question

I've been working on this urn, the body is Montana Caspi (from Jim King's Peruvian wood) and the top is Madrone Burl
My DW thinks the urn needs a base, I'm not certain.
What do you folk think?

I don't know that it needs a base, but the way you have turned it right down to the jaws, I would be interested to see what you are going to do with the bottom. IMHO, the base/foot needs to be tucked under to give it a bit if visual "lift". If you just turn the tenon off and leave it as is, it will look very heavy sitting on the shelf.
