Bandsaw Resaw recommendations <$3K also Felder/Hammer sale

Any thoughts on the 4400 ?
I am in the market for a good resaw bandsaw. As stated in other posts, I am not really looking for the older industrial stuff that so many people love. I would prefer new, bells and whistles, warranty with less durability than the industrial behemoth that will last longer than me. I will only be using the tools a few hours a week and not 3 shifts/day etc.

I would like to spend as little as possible, but I could go as high as 3k.
Resaw capacity at least 13”
1” blade
nice fence
cast iron trunnion
I basically want minimal tinkering. I understand that people like tinkering, I do too,,,,with cars, guns, fishing tackle, but with WW, I want to tinker with the wood, not with the tool.
Others on my list: MM16, G0636XB, Maybe Laguna LT16HD if I can find a sale.
am I missing any?
are there cheaper saws that would accomplish what I need?

Well, I reckon you're down in the Southeast, so the Minimax mentioned in another thread in Seattle, and this Agazzani http://www.ksl.com/?nid=218&ad=27749853&cat=&lpid=&search=Band%20saw&ad_cid=34 in Pocatello are probably out of the running. I think one thing you should do is give some indication of where you are, and how far you're willing to go...

I think there are a lot us in your same boat looking at those same machines, minimax, hammer, felder, grizzly ultimates, and maybe even Laguna.
I think I am down to the mm16 or mm20 (wish they had two dust ports), although I do like the table size of the Grizzly G0701 (though no one seems to own one).

Woodworkers Journal magazine just came out with a test of the newer steel-frame bandsaws in the 14" range, which run off 110 volts. Directed at the home workshop market. They gave the Laguna machine the top tool rating. Worth a look at the Laguna offerings. I have had a Laguna LT 18 since 2001 and have had excellent service out of the machine.
