Here is my modification for the Veritas Small Plow to create the male section of a sliding dovetail.

Thanks for the sliding dovetail insight as always. I really like the look of that HNT Gordon plane for the female portion of the dovetails. do you know of this is something that terry plans to produce on a regular basis?

FWIW I modified an ECE plane to cut the male portions of the dovetail. The modification I made was to create a good fence for it, everything else worked fine. I may also create a worthwhile depth stop for it.

If you don't mind my inquiry; what was the reason for changing from the dedicated dovetail plane that you built previously?

The land of sliding dovetails has been beckoning me.

Just a few more tools on the 'to make' list.

I'm baffled - if the iron is ground with the edge square to the side,
why would this not result in a 90 degree included angle between the bottom and side of the rabbet?

Is there more than one step?
I didn't catch that in the ITW post.

The HNT Gordon plane for the female side was just to damn tempting, and I am soon to be an owner of one.

sigh, this takes all of $30 in router bits....but no.....can't stop there.
