I am looking to buy a set of stainless flatware/silverware that is 18/10 or better stainless steel. Most everything sold today seems to be 18/0 which is junk. The last set I bought from Sam's Club about a decade ago was 12 place settings for around $60 or so. I can't find anything close to that price for 18/10 stainless today. (My current set was accidentally exposed to some chemical fumes and corroded badly.) I suspect everything is 18/0 today because most folks replace stuff like flatware as styles and tastes change and don't keep it long enough for it to corrode and rust. I like stuff that lasts.

Any ideas on where to buy good flatware at a decent price. I just missed out on a deal at Woot.com some time back.

Bought my first "real" set nearly 20 years ago at Bed, Bath & Beyond (of all places) because it had a high nickel content and was the nicest pattern I could find. Not a rust spot on it when I gave it to Good Will a few years back... got tired of storing it once I got married.

Here is a nice 12 piece setting for $153 very elegant simple pattern would go with any style dishes. SILVERWARE (http://www.amazon.com/Reed-Barton-Stainless-65-Piece-Service/dp/B0057V62IG/ref=psdc53_t1_B00352M2FQ_B0057V62IG) I doubt you are going to get it for less.

Ours (Oneida) is at least that old but I discovered after we started running low on spoons that I could buy it on eBay pretty reasonable as long as I stayed away from Replacements Limited's listings.

The wife and I bought our current Reed & Barto (http://www.reedandbarton.com/flatware?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=reed_&_barton_flatware&utm_campaign=NE_ReedandBarton_Flatware)n flatware about 8 years ago. It's 18/10 stainless and we bought it from...of all places...QVC. The price was good enough that we bought two sets.
