Ok, I've never gloated about sticks I bought but this I think is a nice find.

I hope to one day do it justice by making either a nice jointer and some coffin smothers or several H&Rs. To those well versed in this, the wood just arrived to central texas from Ohio, should I coat the ends in wax/paint, should I do that after I rough cut my blanks? The wood was kiln dried to 6-8%.

At the other end of this 16/4 by almost 6" is another nicely quartersawn end, 44" below this one.

I have a couple more but 4/4 and not as nice as this one, according to Larry W. and J Whelan, this is good stock for planes.
