Saw this tulip tree in Skagit County Washington last week. Looks like it might make a nice bowl or two.

Did you get to bring any home with you, Doug? I have heard of tulip poplar........never seen a tulip growing from a tree, but I suspect this is just a tulip planted on a tree rather than the actual tree bearing a tulip flower.............might have to google that one! :rolleyes:

Doug, that is definitely a "tulip" tree. The branch does look like it would make some neat bowls. Do you have photoshop and is this a late April Fools joke?

No, it isn't photo-shopped. It's exactly as I found it in "nature." I wasn't able to bring any home because there was a sign that said "do not pick the tulips." Across the street, there was a whole field of seedlings.

Okay, so maybe it is a late April Fools post. It's tulip time in the Pacific Northwest and the tulip farmer thought it would be fun to plant a bulb or two in the tree.
