This is a soft maple burl bowl about 9" diameter x 3" high. The finish is WOP, buffed and waxed.

Very nice bowl, but a word about the photography - your images lack enough 'field of focus', only the far edge is in focus. Try getting back away from them and using zoom if you can. Macro mode (close up) is for small items and does not work on things as large as a bowl.

Thank you for the compliments. This was an interesting piece. I was happy it was quite solid.

Thom, I have to watch the auto mode of this camera. I realized after your comments and another comment on another forum that the camera in auto mode was going to macro mode and was causing an issue with focus. I don't do enough photography to be come proficient, but I am going to have to learn.
