Help with a logo please.

I picked up a coffin smoother this past weekend and need help with the blade logo. It is a horizontal oval with the following partial across the top: & J L WILL or WIN. Across the bottom is BUFFALO NY. Help if you can.

This is a long shot but maybe it will spur a better idea. I googled "tool companies" and "buffalo ny". A site called Toolemera.com shows a 1905 catalog for the "L&I. J. White Edge Tool Company" in Buffalo. I realize its not a direct match for what you are reporting. But it has some of the characters.

After closer inspection I believe you are correct on this. Under magnification it is WHI. The e can be made out while looking through a lens. I had come up with IJ & LJ Willson,but the city didn't match. Thank you and Joe both for your help.
