Like most if you, I am always scouring craigslist looking for deals on tools I can upgrade too or ones I simply just don't have. Today I picked up something my arsenal was missing... a Dewalt scroll saw DW788 Type 1 for a $100. Came with about 30 extra blades. An older hobbyist who decided it was time to hang it up. He had some fantastic deals on other items but they were already spoken for. He did throw in a homemade box fan with filters setup and all of his 4" dust collection piping, blast gates, and hoses. I finally got a deal that was gloat worthy.

HMM,

New guy with only two posts, already a contributor, and a CL shark to boot. Welcome aboard. The last Rockler ad I saw had that saw for $449 with no stand, and I believe yours is made in Canada, by Excalibur, before DeWalt sent it overseas.

Sweet ;) .

I've never been happier to being told I suck. I guess I now need to find a project where I can put it to use.

Good score! I loved Craigslist at first but anymore it seems as though a lot of folks are asking ridiculous prices for used items. It also seems as though a lot of folks run junk on there just to see what they can get. In this area it is almost as bad as E-Bay. But I still look, never know what one might find...........

Nice score Kevin, especially with the ducting. Be careful though, cruising for deals can be addicting. Try to keep your eye on room in your shop so you can do the actual woodworking!
