I had my vise to fall apart this week and while I were assemble it , the moving jaw would tilt up , the problem was a ball bearing [ half of a bearing ] and this led up to my question " HOW do a factory hold a ball bearing to cut or saw it in to pieces ?

Not sure I understand Ray, why would the factory have to cut or saw the bearing in to pieces in the first place? Do you have a picture of the bearing, that might help.

Pat, the bearing may not been cut, it may be possible to mold a half bearing which is what I am talking about
I said that the bearing was cut in to BUT I meant to say cut in two

Ray. Are you trying to hold the ball in a vise, so you can cut it in half?

NO WAY,the vise use the half of a bearing to control the movement of the moving jaw and the vise come from the factory with a short bearing, cutting a bearing in half [both halves being the same sizes after the cut ] is impossible to mine way of thinking
