I'm looking for glue roller, about 3 to 4" long, that glue won't stick to. I mean, when the glue dries, I want to be able to easily peel the glue off. I have a rubber roller now, but I always have to soak the roller in water to soften the dried glue. After that, I have to work at it a bit before I can get all the glue off. I used to have a roller that the glue just peeled off of, but I lost it. I just bought a silicon roller from Woodcraft, but it when I got it in the mail, it turned out to be about 1 1/2" long...it was a very deceptive picture.

Try Rockler, they have some items that might suit your needs. I have the glue brush, dried glue just peels right off.

Just leave the roller in the glue.

I use a regular roller frame and roller covers like these- http://woodworker.com/3-roller-frame-mssu-948-312.asp and usually buy the 12" length and cut them on the chopsaw to the size I need. I keep them in a container of water if there's time between glue ups and wash them out and let them dry between jobs. I've also use a J roller made for laminate to spread yellow glue but always washed it when done. If you don't want to clean your tools, use cheap short nap roller covers and toss them when done.

What glue have you peeled off? Does epoxy peel off?

Yellow glue, white Gorilla brand glue, haven'T tried epoxy, I hardly use it.

I just use the inexpensive 4" foam rollers that come in a small paint tray. After use just put it in a zip-lock bag and put it in the frig. They last pretty long this way. Sometimes these are free after rebate at Menard's.

I use the one from Rockler and really like it, it fits right on a bottle of glue (8 oz.).
I use it and then just let it set and the next day I just peel the old glue off, the longer you leave it on the harder it will be to get off.
The more glue that is on the it the easier it is to get off.

I don't see why it would not work with epoxy, only with epoxy it would get hard and maybe have to be hit to get the epoxy to brake off, where with other glues they stay fixable when you pull it off.

I got a 4" roller and tray made of silicone from my local woodcraft. Works like a charm on hide glue and yellow glue. Have not tried anything else yet - but would not use for epoxy myself.

Mike, do they still have it? I've been looking for a silicon 3" or 4" roller, but can't find it on their website.

Nope. Not it. That's the one I got thinking it was much bigger than it really is. It's only 1 3/4" wide.

I use this glue roller, cut it in to thirds no the band saw. Use it with a 3" metal paint roller frame. You can wash it out a couple on time after each use if like or throw it away. What I like about it the most is the very even glue application. Tom

+1. Yep. I picked that tip up from PWW and used it when I built my workbench. Puts glue down evenly and quickly on the laminations in the top. I didn't refrigerate, just covered with plastic wrap. Cleanup is throw the roller away.

I'd love this if it were for one of those small, thin rollers. That said, I'll have to look into one of the short, standard diameter rollers.
