Here is a little myrtle box a smidgen more that 2" in diameter and 3 1/2" tall made from some rather plain myrtle wood I had in my box of scraps. Sorta looks like cherry more than it looks like myrtle wood doesn't it?

Because of the design it was very hard to sand the inside bottom of the box. My fingers were cramped.

When I showed this one to my wife she cuddled it in her hands and said, "Mine, mine, mine....". I think it is lost forever... ;)

I think it's very cool Mike. Reminds me of ancient Constantinople (now Istanbul). I hope the cramps were worth it....Your wife certainly thinks so!

Beautiful box :)
Isn't it nice to "loose" things to the ones we love? At least you know it's appreciated and loved.

Mike, the wood, finish, and design all combine to make a beautiful piece. I also must compliment you on doing such lovely work on such a small piece.

Well Mike, it may have been plain when you started, but certainly isn't now. A great talent.

I yet have the ability to take a beautiful piece and make it plain.
