What's the scoop you have there?

Well here it is finished today:

It measures 12" long. It was checked scooping rice and holds about 1/2 cup.

It is birch and has been rubbed down with food grade mineral oil.

Nice Jim! If I lived close to you I'd cook you some red beans and rice to go with the new scoop. Guess I'd have to whittle a couple spoons. :)

Thanks Judson, the real thrill was turning this when the wood was green. The shavings seemed to be a long continuous ribbon of wood flying off the skew.
