Is anyone familiar with a tool that automatically bisects any angle as it changes shape? It seems to me I have seen one in years past but now Googling 'angle bisector tool' is coming up empty.

It would basically be a square with pins at the corners that allow it to rack and a diagonal attached to opposite pins with a hole at one end and a slot at the other allowing it to slide as the device racks thus giving the bisect of any angle you push it to.

I know I've seen these years ago. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Also- I know how to bisect an angle with dividers. This would be for watching how changing the angle affects how the bisect interacts with a fixed point.

I guess I could make one... but sometimes it's just easier to buy it.

The festool Kapex comes with one, or something like I thin you are describing.

Tool called "angle fix".

Nobex makes something called a "miter fix" which is similar to the gadget included with the Kapex.

Yep! I Googled Kapex and that's what I'm talking about.

So for $1300 I could have one.

"angle fix"-- Back to google!

Cool

Here's one (http://www.jimbodetools.com/Crisp-and-Fine-LANGLAIS-PATENT-Angle-Bisector-Circa-1894-p27491.html) that's more affordable.

Or maybe this doodad (http://www.leevalley.com/US/wood/page.aspx?p=48337&cat=1,43513) would answer?

I use a Vintage Stanley No. 30 Angle Divider a lot....you can usually find one for $40 to $50. Very similar to that Bora one.

You can get the festool version for a little less than $1300 without the saw. http://www.festoolusa.com/power-tool-accessories/miter-saws/general-accessories/miterfast-angle-transfer-device-494370

Still your most expensive option. The kapex has a neat little pocket where it tucks in...actually possibly the only thing I do like about the kapex. Looks like the bora version is a pretty close copy for a lot less money.
