A New Vac Center I Just Finished

I wanted to have a cart that I could easily move around my shop with my Fein Turbo II and Dust Deputy. I also wanted it to have space for I'll of the accessories and adaptors. Of course power was an important necessary, so I mounted a 30' retractable extension cord on the back. Another thing I thought of while I was constructing it was to mount my "Sander Sitter" since I will typically be using the vac and sanded together.

That's interesting. They were all straight up and down. Beats me why some of them are sideways. Hmmm.

I like how you got all that on a small footprint. The large loop hose storage and the sander sitter look especially convenient. Nicely done. Festool makes something like that for several thousand dollars...

By the way, I have another thread that talks about the way I connected my Fein base to the Dust Deputy. I can't believe that Oneida didn't have a specific adapter since they show it with a Fein in a large percentage of their ads.

On the sideways photo thing. Your camera or phone is writing a bit of code on each photo defining it's orientation during the exposure. The problem is that not every program or website recognizes this bit of code. What I do is turn that option of on my camera, then manually reorient the photos.
Nice job. I particularly like at the sander sitter on a stick. You could incorporate mounting points wherever you think you might ever need one.

I made the one from Woodsmith magazine, which is more horizontal than vertical, but I really like having all the vacuum gear together. My only suggestion would be to make sure you put big wheels on it, as I had used some small ones, and getting it over cords and such made it difficult.

I chose the vertical route because, as a wheelchair- bound woodworker, I need all of the floor space I can get.
I've got 5" hard rubber wheels on it; two fixed in back and two casters in front. And, if you noticed, the front wheels are cantilevered forward by 3". I did that to offset the center of gravity to make it very unlikely to tip over if the wheels should catch on something while I am pulling it.
