A nameless family member was using my computer and mentioned that I might be considered "nerd like" because Saw Mill Creek holds a place in the toolbar bookmarks. Do any of the rest of you have the Creek in your bookmarks? Do you think we are nerds?

Yep. Nope, we're efficient. A single click and we're in our happy place.

Early to bed early to rise, and so on, lol. Unfortunately for me, long days continued after my boat life...

Chrome here so that when I added it to one, it adds it to my phone, ipad and all three computers I use on a regular basis. Uh, yeah so I guess that makes me a nerd.

Yes, but now you have me worried, I always took pride in being 180 degrees out of phase with the rest of the world.

The nameless family member has favorites that include Macys, Dilliards, Saks, shoe stores, etc. People who live in glass houses ........

I have it - but - I don't know how I got it! :D

Really...it was just there one day.

Anyhow,,,I can say w/all honesty my nerd days are over. I bid them farewell when I retired. I've made it a point to forget a little more about computers each and every day!

That might be diagnosable, but where does one get help for the affliction?

I have a bookmark but I also have a shortcut on the desktop for SawMill, that is what I use most of the time, the short cut is fast and easy.

I have a desktop folder with shortcuts for all the forums I visit. Then I have a file with all my user names and PWs.
That way I can transport the folder with links and PWs to any device I'm using. Great for backing it up as well.

I used to have one on my desktop that took two clicks.

Now just have one in my bookmark bar and one on my dock:

285334

285335

Both of these are single click.

Ray,
A nerd is that kid in high school that never fit in and everybody made fun of them that went on to become the CEO of a Fortune 100 company.....

I don't have a book mark I have a desktop icon. I don't understand how having Sawmill Creek bookmarked qualifies a person as a nerd. People that work with wood can't be nerds.

Old guy here. Is a bookmark the same as a favorite? I have it on my favorites list, but it takes me three clicks to get sawmill. Favorites....Woodworking....Sawmill.

I feel overworked, must be senior abuse.

You can just put a shortcut on the desktop that will go right to SMC.
At the beginning of the address at the top of your browser there is a symbol of some type, just grab that symbol and drag it to the desktop.
Then if you are running Windows 7 you can pin that shortcut to the tool bar at the bottom of the screen, just drag it to the tool bar and pin it.

If we are all nerds, and the unnamed family member emphatically states we are, then who among is is the chief nerd? How many of us have the Creek as a home page?

If you are asking whom we will vote for to be chief nerd then you will get one vote
IF you want the office of chief nerd

I can't remember if I ever added it or not, but I visit enough it's in the top sites that list when I open my browser. If I'm on another page and want to come here, I just start typing and usually by the "a" in "sawmill" if not by the "s", it shows up in the auto-complete suggestions in Chrome. More than a couple of clicks that way, but I use the keyboard more than the mouse, so I get there without taking my hands off the keyboard.
