Was able to get this Type 15 #7 at a great price thanks to a fellow Creeker. It was in good condition when I received it but I wanted to clean it up a bit. Ended up taking it down to bare metal and re painting the japanning with engine enamel. Polished up the brass and sanded the tote and knob up to 600 grit. I love the way it turned out and it cuts like a dream. Was really excited to find a Sweetheart logo on it when I got it, didn't realize it was a SH era plane when I bought it.

Beauty! Nothing like taking an old sweetheart through this process and then cutting shavings like that. It really makes a plane YOURS. It's just so rewarding. Nice work!

Nice!

Did you put a finish on the tote and knob, or just leave it unfinished after sanding to 600 grit?
