I need a hand rivet gun. Most all reviews (Amazon, Lowes, Home Depot) are so-so. This Stanley looks ok. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41PY1gmKi%2BL._SX425_.jpg
What do you recommend?

What are you going to use it for? I have a hand rivet gun I got basically free from a neighbor who was moving and have never used it.

What kind of rivets are you going to drive and how many? If you're going to drive aluminum rivets, that one is probably good. If you're going to drive stainless steel rivets, though, you'll want a bigger one or a pneumatic one. We run one off of E-cylinders of air at work but all we drive are stainless rivets.

Yep, their pneumatic one.

use stainless steel and aluminum. We have the pneumatic guns but like to keep a hand powered tool in our tool cart for use when we need to drive 1/2 dozen away from the air supply.

I used hand operated "POP" riveters as a sheet metal worker for over 35 years. Few alum rivets, lots of steel rivets and lots of stainless steel rivets. I found that the cheap cheap riveters work very well. It does take a strong grip to pop off stainless rivets with any hand operated riveter though. I have never tried a pneumatic one.

They also work well when there isn't enough space to get the rivet gun into the correct position.

These will pop up to a 1/4" stainless with no problem. http://www.nationaltoolwarehouse.com/Big-Daddy-Hand-Riveter-P21792C1263.aspx

There are many other choices for smaller rivets. There is also an accordion linkage one that works well for 3/16 stainless and smaller. These aren't made any more. I have both which are great for working on sailboats with stainless rivets.

I like the smaller, regular sized cast handle Marson rivet guns for small aluminum rivets.
