Any advice on a good air seperator or dryer for home use? I will be using a HVLP spray gun and want ot make sure no moisture is involved.

Also, are in line oilers necessary or superior to simply hand oiling? Can you use an oiler with an HVLP spray gun?

What brand(s) do folks like? Where is the best source?

Anyone use the Grizzly air seperator/oilers combo unit?

A regular water/oil filter and a disposable dryer filter just before the gun will work just fine. The latter costs about $11 and you replace it when the element changes color. None of this replaces draining the tank regularly, either... ;)

You do NOT need an inline oiler in a home woodworking shop. Too easy to get contamination and not really necessary for nail guns, etc.

Jim,

I added an inline water filter to my compressor -- got it at Lowe's for about $20. Jim's solution sounds good too.

I add a drop of oil to my brad and pin guns occasionally as suggested by the manufacturer.
