Here is one more turned end grain box in padauk that I got from my friend and fellow Creeker Rodger Barrows of East Wake Hardwoods.
This little box is 2 1/4" in diameter and 2 3/4" tall, with 3/16" sides and 1/4" top and bottom. Padauk is a little stringy and a whole lot porous in my opinion for end grain turning and the finish bled back through the pores forever it seemed. The grain seems to disappear.
