lots of old sliders have lost there miter and some people make a fence to make the slider useful. I do have the Double miter but still wanted to make the back fence.

The large 5/8" holes to hold the larger cross cut fence on the Wadkin PK slider put the cross cut at its largest length. We have sometimes wished we had this back fence. i was tempted to bolts a 2x4 there at times but always had in the back of my mind a real fence in a Wadkin flavor. the last 2 days i made one and it has give me 39" at 1" and 36" and full depth.

this set up lets me range between 90 and 10 dregs and i did put a mark in the table

sometimes holding large doors can be trying and so i have added a hold

swigs out of the way if not needed

when angles more than 10 dregs are needed the fence locks on the side of the table slider is gauged by clamping the table edge with this clamp.

Oh that's nice. Is it the same design geometry as the original was?

thanks for comments guys. I was hoping to show that a slider that was missing a miter could be made nice to use with a shop made one.

Beautiful work Jack. I'd like to know more of your story. I'm sure many others here have questions for you. What if I start a new thread titled something like "Jack Forsberg's Woodworking Story" would you be willing to answer a few questions? Pm me if you want. Thanks.

Bruce I cut to a scratch line on my restored 1935 wood metal Speed Ax English band saw. Use a 10/14 bymeatal blade, Cut the slot with a wood router that i made a mount for the Stenner chain chisel mortiser(heads swap out in that machine) . screw it to a piece of wood and use the table traverse. cleaned it up on the Oliver bottom scroll sander. there were some files in my hand for the other parts but it took me about an hour to do the bottom plate nice and clean,

what would you like to know? I am a bit of a English machine junky. I like my kit in the 60 to 80 year range and of the pattern makers type.

Impressive craftsmanship! I thought you might have had a CNC hidden in the basement. :)

Vectric's Aspire software has a trace function that you can use to create a tool path from.
