Have any of you guys used this jig and if so, what is your opinion of it?

I had one for about a week and sold it to Phil Thien, I just did not like it as well as the big Jessem doweling jig which I have and love.

Here is a thread he posted.

I've got it (as Bill said, I got it from him).

I like it very much. I started this recent thread:

Those two tables are now assembled and finished and I was very happy with how well the Jessem worked.

I have a Paralign jig, the bigger one. I got it before they came out with the lighter one. Both will do flush corner carcase joints, which most dowel jigs will not do.

You may want to consider clamping time and the spacing rods that come with the Paralign. The rods allow quicker setups for doweling things like cabinets.

The lighter jig lacks integral clamps, but consider that with the heavier one you have to take the jig apart and reassemble to move the clamping knobs between the two positions. The Paralign is quite heavy and I think overbuilt. It is self-contained, requiring no additional clamps and the rods do come in handy and save time in some applications.

I think you'll be pleased with either one.
