I'm trying to match a drawer pull that I bought nearly 40 years ago. They came from a local hardware store (remember those?) and I remember buying all they had in stock at the time. So I have 32 of these on the drawers in my shop and would like to find a few more to match some new storage I made. It's solid copper (and heavy!) the ball is 1-1/4" in diameter and they're 1-5/8" tall. There's no brand or model number, in fact that's no identifying marks anywhere on it. I've not had any luck finding anything like it, so I thought a few more (and better!) eyes might be able to turn something up.
.Here's a photograph of what I'm looking for...

I'm pretty sure thats the same stem profile as some brass polished chrome Baldwin knobs i have - i'd try giving baldwin a call. they might have them in copper too.

also the 4961 & 4968 have longer stems. copper not listed, but you never know..

I've found them in glass, brass, chrome, but not copper... hard to believe that such a simple design isn't available in every material under the sun! The eBay auction certantly looks like what I'm looking for, although a lot more tarnished than what I'd want (mine have a lacquer coasting, they use to be bright as a new penny), but it doesn't list the size - they could be jewerly box size! Anyway... I could probably even make them, I have a small metal working lathe, now if I could get solid 1-1/4" dia copper rod stock is the next question...

If making them is an option, then certainly buying the eBay ones and buffing them or mounting them to your lathe and taking some emery cloth to them is an option. I'd send the eBay lister a message asking him for any details you want regarding the size. It's also a Best Offer auction, so you could probably get them for less money than listed. The auction says they came off a dresser, so they're probably pretty close to the size you're looking for.

Google "copper rod stock" and I'm sure you'll find sources for your copper rod.

If you do decide to make them, search "lathe ball turner" for some ideas on how to make them. I love the Internet!
