hi
I don't know everybody is telling that the engraving on cell cast acrylic turns white, but I don't have this it stays clear. I got real cellcast acrylic from a certified artist place with the backing on it where is printed cellcast.
does somebody can explain why this is??
greetings

If it stays clear then you have extruded acrylic. Cast acrylic turns white. I believe Cell Cast is a brand

The protective cover on all the cast I have purchased over 17 years has been paper while the extruded has always been a plastic cover. I suppose there may be exceptions but I haven't seen them.

If you really do have cast acrylic then I would test several focal lengths to see if you can improve the results.

no its real cell cast with paper backing printed . it doesn't matter which focal length even totally out of focus it will stand clear.
the only where it showed white was when I left the paper backing on it but this goes away after cleaning.
I don't know if its just me maybe murphy's law catched me

How much speed and power are you using? If you put a lot more heat than needed, cast can go somewhat clear. Only use the power needed to make the mark. Don't overpower it.

Perspex branded cast acrylic has plastic covering, one side is marked "Face" the other is plain white.
