Well a couple of weeks ago I picked up a nice little piece of maple burl. Suzie wanted a bowl so that was that. I broke out the carbide cutting tools and let the burl fly. After quite a while I had a decent shape and started finishing it with my new crown carbide tool. Multiple stages of sanding starting at 150 going to 400 and done. Then on to one coat of shellac for sealer and two coats of Gloss Poly, Suzie wanted it. I think it`s Ok for a first piece of burl.
