I'm looking at the newest shark guard model SGK1. It looks like it will work really well, when the blade is vertical.

My question is, how well does it work, if you have the blade tilted at an angle ?

Thanks in advance for responding.

It all depends on your saw, not the Shark Guard. Many older splitter designs attach to the table, and thus don't move at all with the blade. My saw on the other hand has a riving knife with a shark guard. The guard is mounted to the riving knife and follows the blade tilt...

About as well as any that tilt with the blade. When tilted, on side will move upward, allowing more air in. You need the larger port whenever the guard doesn't rest close enough to the table. Puts more cfm through so it will work better than any with a 2.5" hose assuming you have a good collector hooked to it. A shop vac and small port will get overpowered unless the guard is sitting on the table. In that case low cfm and high pressure are better which is shop vac territory. Dave
