So I'm currently looking at this tube to replace the 40 watt broken one that Hurricane is refusing to replace. It's losing power over time and generally being a pain in the butt. I'm also seeing current drops the longer it runs. So I can only cut about 30 mins before it needs to cool down a bit. It's frustrating. I am going to do another test to just check my sanity. I want to check the output from the controller and make sure that isn't doing weird stuff. The power supply is new.

I'm leaning towards this one.

Any other recommendations?

I don't see anything special about that tube... same as the other cheap stuff included with the small systems. Dave Sheldrake recently made some suggestions on who to purchase a high-quality DC tube from... check out his replies to threads over the last couple of days.

My only question is the tube you are looking at buying is a 60 watt but your machine is a 40 so is your machine able to handle the 60 watt tube?
