Bed idea

I saw an interesting bed at Costco today. The headboard was made as a wooden light box. It was maybe 2 1/2" thick, and the top flipped up on hinges, and had LED lights in it which back lit a picture which was on clear plastic or glass. The headboard was the usual MDF made to look like cherry, and had a nice style to it. It would look very nice done right, in real wood, by someone with a little artistic talent.

When I clicked on this post, I read it as "Bad Idea". I was trying to figure out what was bad... It's early, what do you want from me? ;)

My brother-in-law is wanting me to build him something similar, very modern with LED lights and lots of spaces for electronics. I'm hoping to stay busy enough to avoid building it...
