I was working on my TS today, which is a Craftsman 133.XXX model. I heard a strange noise as the saw started so I immediately turned it off. After a few minutes of checking I noted something in the belt guard. On this model saw, the motor hangs out the back and the weight of the motor tensions the belt. I found that the enclosed guard had accumulated saw dust, a short pencil and a cheap pen. All of which, except the sawdust, had apparently rolled off the table and landed precisely where they slipped into the blade guard. Once I snapped the cover off and removed the debris everything was fine. I will periodically check for saw dust accumulation in the future.

Check your enclosed belt guards guys.
