Another thread mentioned lands on chisels.
Instead of hijacking that thread this one was started to show different chisels with different lands.
I recall Derek Cohen ground some of his chisels with more of a triangle profile. I am not sure if any western chisels are available with a similar profile.
Here are my 8 1/4" bevel edged chisels for comparison:
282538
These are lined up from the smallest land to the largest.
From left to right they are; a Buck Brothers crank neck chisel, a Buck Brothers tang chisel, a Marples blue handle, a Witherby, a Stanley, a Defiance (not sure if it was owned by Stanley at the time) and two modern Buck Brothers chisels most likely made a few years apart.
Here is a close up of the tips:
282539
Hopefully others will have other chisels to add in.
Just a note on the Defiance chisel. The lands on this were very rough. It looked like it had saw marks. A lot of time was spent smoothing the sides. There is just a little patch of the roughness left as a reminder. This was one of my first 1/4" chisels.
