Turned this 6" X 3 1/2" hollow form out of a blank Carole from VA generously sent for me to see. The bottom is not quite what I wanted, but will do. Collar is from a scrap I picked out of box at Paxton's. I suspect it is cocabola, but not sure. Thanks, Carole. I found the wood kind of stringy and fuzzy, but it finished well enough with a little floor sealer help. Thanks for looking.

Looks like cocobolo, whatever it is it goes well with your hollow form. Very nice Don. You are becoming quite the artistic turner. Good job! :)

Don, yea, I'd say it finished out real nice and the collar brings out that faint pink color in body of the vase. Nice job.

What floor finish?

Nice work, the collar works well!! You say stringy and fuzzy, was it dry? Sounds like it.
