Anyone every use Powertec replacement blades and are they any good? They are a lot cheaper than I can find original Delta brand blades.

Buy one set and try them. If you like them, then buy some more. But with Delta replacement parts (for planer) virtually nonexistent, I wouldn't stock up, in case planer bites the dust.

That's my back up plan--it doesn't look like anyone has used them. The Delta blades used to sell for $20 a set, but now you are lucky to find them for less than $40.

As an FYI, I bought a Delta 22-540 (12" lunch box) planer blade several years ago that remains unopened in my shop . Not using my 22-540 anymore, so I would be willing to send it to you. Name your price and I'll ship it no charge. If you are interested let me know we can get in touch.

Actually, the package contains two double sided blades not one.

I put a set of Powertec on my 6" jointer and have been pleased with the performance. I think the cost and performance made them a good value. If you get them from Amazon they can always be returned.

Yeah, they are indexed.

I use these blades in my small planer. They seem to do the job well enough. And for the price i don't cry to hard if I hit a nail.

I have a delta 22-560 12-1/2" lunchbox planer and I recently bought some Porter Cable Knives and have been pleased with them so far.

If you happen to have a mernards nearby, they have the same blades for 19.99. About once every two months or so they mark them down to 14.99. I think the brand is Performax. Seems to be the exact same blade.
