Here's my first "real" piece of furniture. I've been lurking here and at the pond for a while. This is a cherry table. I found the plans somewhere, it was billed as a good project for beginners. I wasn't going to post it, but the picture hides some of the big glaring errors (such as problems I had applying the gel stain and problems I had tapering the legs). I finished it with four coats of Sam Maloof poly-oil finish. Thanks for looking!

Here's a picture from the side. I used biscuits, not good enough for mortise and tenon yet!

With a name like that, Chris, I'm surprised you used cherry! :D (Sorry, couldn't resist). Looks great!

Nice work Chris. Cherry is my favorite wood. It'll look even nicer as the Cherry starts to darken with age. That's one of the nice things about Cherry - watching it change its look over the years.

Great job, Chris! As an acknowledged "cherryoholic", I'm not only pleased with the form and function, but with the material you used... :D

Looks very nice. It needs something on it to prove it can hold things off the floor, then it can be considered furniture. Right now its just art.:)
