Found this piece over the weekend; purchased along with 4 other small items
including a home made molding plane. With research and help from guys @ the TooTalk site
arrived at conclusion the tool pictured below is a stirrup adze.
It was purchased as shown - no handle
Folks at house where garage/estate sale was held said the PO was from Portugal
and was a coffin maker. That all sorta fits.

The logo above was taken from a PDF advertisement of BURYS & Co. It was big help figuring out what the image in the first photo at top right of tool was. I gotta get back to actual work but wanted to post this in case someone has a piece like this that they are scratching their head over as I was Sat. Morn. when I bought it.
