Need help, spray painting a hinge

I have a brass coated hinge that I want to paint black. Any suggestions as to how I should do this? I need to change them because the other hardward that I have is Stainless Steel and the brass just doesn't match.

Hello Brent,

I would just scuff it some with some 400 wet or dry

paper. Wipe it clean with some oderless mineral spirits.

Let it sit out in the sun a bit so the metal is warm. Then

just spray it with Rustoleum.
