is it necessary to keep the faceplate on as shown in the owners manual when turning between centers ? i wouldn't think so but thats the way they show it ---tks,joe

No there is no need to keep the faceplate on the lathe when turning between centers, just the picture they took of the lathe for advertising purposes....you can remove the faceplate and turn without problem...Dennis

Yea...take it off. Remember, the folks in marketing never likely turned on (as it were...) a lathe...
