Anyone know of a source for an 8" diameter, 1" bore stack dado that makes nice, clean cross grain cuts in brittle veneered surfaces and also cuts a flat, uniform bottom groove with minimal "bat ears"?

Can your saw handle a 1" dado blade if it existed? Most table saws max out at 13/16". I'm not aware of any off the shelf dado sets that come that width but I dont see any reason why you cant order a set and add in extra chippers, you would probably just have to get them all sharpened as a set to the same diameter. Have you considered using a router to make the cuts?

I think he's talking about a dado set with a 1" hole in the center of the blades, rather than the typical 5/8".

Forrest can put a 1" bore in any of their dado sets for an extra $39.60.

Ah there I go not reading the question... anyways FS Tool has a 8" dado set with a 1" bore. Never used it but have heard good things about their blades.

I have an FS Tools 6 inch dado set with a 30mm bore, it produces excellent cuts, extremely flat bottom, minimum ears.

I believe they're ground after boring as a set.

Mine also has the two pin holes in it...........Rod.
