The time has come I need some pipe clamp storage (need to keep the shop neat and organized :) ) and wondered if anyone had some pics of theirs they wouldn't mind sharing so I can get some ideas, either mobile or stationary is fine.

Simple 3/4" plywood with slots cut into to top piece. Of course you are close enoughthat you can always come over to give it a closer inspection. Since the pipes are so heavy I felt that support brackets were necessary.

Mine is just like the other two posted. Only problem is it does take up a lot of wall space...

That's why I was also looking for mobile units if anyone had pictures of one. Thanks Frank for the link.

But if I ever get the space for a dedicated assembly table, I saw a torsion box table in a magazine that had a field of PVC tubes in the base.(sorry right now which magazine and issue escapes me).
All the clamps were stored in them. It made sense to me to have them below the table you were working on.

One way to avoid using up too much wall space for your pipe clamps is to make the rack of sufficient depth, front to back, so that you can put three or four clamps in a single channel. Of course, you MUST include triangular brackets to beef up the strength of the rack. Here's a picture of a simple rack I made, but it doesn't show it installed and holding the pipe clamps--but hopefully you can see the depth of the channels will accomodate several clamps each.

While this is not exactly just for pipe clamps, maybe you could chang it a little to make it work. It holds 20 Bessys and 6 pipe clamps in the middle. It is on 4 swivel casters so I can roll it to a project if I want or jus park it in a corner out of the way.

BTW, I just broke down and bought the Bessys this winter after many, many years of using pipe clamps. What a mistake - waiting so long!!!! The Bessys or Gross Stabile type are so much easier to use.

Mine are mounted on the wall just like most of the other posts. They do take up a lot of wall space. I had previously built a clamp stand on casters but it took up way too much floor space. Either way, it looks like I need more of both. There is probably a law written by Murphy that tools will expand to fill all available shop space.

By the way, is anyone else suffering from clamp envy after seeing Gilbert's pictures or is it just me?:)
