Good morning all,

I've come into a bunch of material, and figure its time for me to start building a new workshop. Oddly enough considering the context here, this would NOT be my main woodworking shop, but itll free up the space in my other shop to make it usable. Itll be a rough structure for my tractor and other lawn/garden equipment with haybales, firewood storage, etc, and most importantly.. Wood drying.

I've got 16 14 foot tall 8X8s for the start of a timber frame building (well aware ill likely need more).

In addition ive got potential siding material in the form of approximately 80 feet by width (160 6 inch boards) of 16 foot tall barn siding boards, meaning i could cover a 20x40x20 building on three sides, as long as said building was shorter than 16 feet in pure wall height. Can purchase more to go 4 sides as needed.

So, long story short, im looking for timber framing plans that i can throw at the county to get a permit, the 8x8s lend themselves nicely to that as a start.

Summary:

Looking to build a timber framed building, for storage of outdoor equipment, roughly 20x40. Can probably be smaller, but likely not bigger.
Will be rough-sided with barn siding
Prefer a build that uses 8x8s to some degree
Im ok with either a traditional pitched roof (roof will be metal), or a lean-to "shed" type roof
will sit on a slab ill have poured
will be used for lumber drying potentially.

Examples of what looks like acceptable overall ideas to me:
