Does anyone have a good explanation of what "evasive restoration" means?

It is a term used on a site about furniture restoration:

Jim,
I think they meant to use the term "invasive restoration". Unfortunately, the writer needed a copy editor. Invasive restoration is in automotive terms is a "frame-off" job. I guess in this instance, the piece was totally disassembled in order to be restored.

Reading the article, Maurice's explanation sounds correct.

Before reading I thought it might mean a restoration geared to fool future collectors/conservators.

Maybe he meant he just was avoiding work at all!!:) Spell check too often(like EVERY POST) decides for me what I REALLY meant to type. LIke,every time I type "on",it decides I meant "pin". There are others. I have to proof read everything I write.
