Years ago an elderly man had his air hoses set up with couplers that connected to the air tools with a swivel action, not the typical type of coupler. I am not talking about a simple swivel on the end of the hose or tool, but one that actually connects to the tool with a swivel type of movement. Do any of you have any idea what this was? It was a very fast and solid way to make contact.

Like this? These are much bigger than needed, for tractor trailers.

I have one similar to this on my impact wrench for chaning tires and auto work.

I wondered if maybe he was talking about universal couplers, like what you'd run on a jack hammer / bull hose?

I'm curious, I can't see how any of the ones we posted are better than quick couplers. Maybe Rich is onto something!

Yeah, me too. The universals come all the way down into the 1/4" size range but of course they are un-valved on both sides of the coupler so not good. Also have to be wired together because they can pop apart which would leave you with a pretty heavy steel mace flying around the shop on the end of the hose. Not good.

It's none of the ones posted. Wish I had asked the man before he died.

Jerome, what would the air tool device you have pictured be called? i would like a couple to keep my small air tools' lines from becoming a tangled mess. Thanks

they call them ball swivel air connectors. I got mine from a trade show that we did.

George, that one you show isn't a disconnect, is it? It looks more akin to a swivel.

Poking around remembered Staubli made a twist style coupler but they are mega bucks and spotted these from across the pond

By George I think you found the ones in question. Thank you for that. Had no idea how to find them and had looked for hours.
