I still cannot seem to get real good results with photos on wood ,its hit and miss and when i need one its miss.
I see where some recommend corel draw, adobe photoshop, photo grav and one touch.
The latest was adobe photoshop with andromeda plug in called screens (quite an investment),I did download the demo
plug in and will give it a try .
I also have tried photograv but i feel its all in the proper prep of the photo
Has anyone here got this down pat using corel possibly using mike clarke's procedure
or is it a hit an miss

You need to add your engraver specs to your signature.

Besides properly preparing the photo, the wood makes a big difference. Really clear wood without grain like basswood works best.

Depends on the rings.. The slower it grows the better.. Pine has a lot of sap, and some of it etches 'line art' pretty nice but leaves a bit to be desired on photos.. Cherry, Red Alder, Maple are all good for photos.. If your using photograv, use the Cherry setting as the default. The Cherry setting works on just about everything..
