I am building a walk-in closet that the client requested breadboard panels for any open walls. I'm using pre-primed mdf 4x8 sheets. 2-1/4" centers so lots of beads to paint. In the past I have meticulously painted each bead with a brush as that seemed the only way to insure complete coverage. Even the pre-primed leaves just a dusting of paint in the creases which needs to be primed by hand or painted with the finish an extra coat. What a pain!

Has anyone used a specific painter's tool that would make quick(er) but a good looking job? I simply can't use my HVLP in this confined space. I wondered about a really deep nap roller or one of those wedge shaped foam roller things but have my doubts about both.

Any advice? I'd appreciate it.

Sam,
In a past life I was a house painter. Whenever we had bead board to paint, we would use a long nap lambs wool roller to lay on a rather thick coat. Then go back over it with a good quality brush. You can make pretty quick work of a rather large area. Especially with 2 people.
Don't waste your time with those foam rollers, they are junk!
